No Black Monday -

The stock market didn't collapse last Monday, instead over the course of the week, the Dow Jones industrials crumbled 4%. The news of Citigroups emergency board meeting, wasn't the straw, that broke the stock market's back.

That is good news and evidence that the "powers" that be learned their lesson from August. It doesn't change the course, or prevent an individual event, from inevitability of lower stock market valuations. It is an indication, though, that we are now looking at a slow decline instead of an abrupt collapse. Predicting a manipulated market is almost impossible. A lot of capital is being pumped into this market to keep it going.

I have no money invested in the stock market. So why do I care? Because your job and the economy is dependent on stock prices. When individual corporations are faced with lower stock prices, they cut jobs, in an effort to boost earnings. I may write more about it in a column.

Charlene:
The beavers were saved! Here is a link to the article.

http://origin.mercurynews.com/lifeandstyleheadlines/ci_7386349?nclick_check=1

What was not saved was the idea, belief, practice of man and nature being able to co-exist. The beavers are going to be re-located the dam will be destroyed.

I recall learning that the last Grizzly Bear in Califonia was killed the day before we became a state. A state whose flag shows the Grizzly.

Thanks for your email and comment.

I will donate money and do whatever I can to save the beavers from being killed.

I have a close friend at Sony Films in Culver City who is an executive. I know lots of people who would make a deal with the city to film a documentary. Animal Planet would be interested in doing a documentary!

These animals and their habitat MUST be saved.

Please contact me at:

Thank you,
Charlene Richards

The peace movement is at the mall. Everybody hates Juniors' guts but they like his approach to war. (If you don't volunteer you don't get your ass shot off.) Todays' activity in Congress re: a WAR TAX just might wake up the sleepers and put them in the streets for you (although I doubt it).Charlie Rangells' draft would do it though! It makes patriot veteran want to puke. JR

Hi Ramsy,
What happened to the peace movement you say?
In my not so humble opinion the peace movement was kind of highjacked by the (9/11 truth movement)

Their stated strategy is to bash us over the head with the Shock and Awe of the images over and over just like Bush did as a reason to attack Iraq...the problem is that they can't prove it is a Demolition anymore than Bush could prove Saddam did it...Have you noticed that when the Truthers show up all consensus stops?...it is kind of a DVD cult that only wants to believe the contradictory guess work that is on their fuzzy edited clips and ...How can a peace movement make progress with that? Sure lets have an independent investigation of 9/11...and in a few years after that maybe we can get back to a peace movement.

The best way to get a bunch of documented War Criminals off the hook is to accuse them of even more spectacular crimes that can't be proven!
That is the blow-back so far.

Sincerely,
Jim

PS. I wouldn't worry about the Chinese, they know how to adjust to most anything.
